Manual Extract:

• Braking
When the pedal is pressed, the piston is pushed down through the rubber spring, and compressed air flows into the brake chamber through the inlet port.

• Balancing
When the pressure of the compressed air that has flowed from the inlet valve into the brake chamber pushes the bottom side of the piston up and becomes equal in force to the pedal pressing force, the piston is raised by the rubber spring, closing the inlet valve. When the pedal is further pressed, the piston is lowered, opening the inlet valve. Then, when the compressed air enters the brake chamber and becomes equal in force to the pedal pressing force, the piston is raised again to close the inlet valve.

• Releasing brake
Taking the foot off from the pedal, the inlet valve closes and the piston separates from the inlet valve. This lets the compressed air in the brake chamber flow through the exhaust valve out into the atmosphere.
