MT285, MT295 Manual Extract – Features of the Governor on This Engine

As the injection pump casing forms a part of the cylinder block and governor casing a part of the gear case, the strength of the casings is very high. The injection pump gear and governor are held more securely accordingly. As the governor side bearing of the injection pump camshaft is held in the front of the cylinder block, the injection pump gear is installed on the supported part of the camshaft (overhung) and the governor is installed near the governor bearing, which prevents the governor from running out. As the overhung part becomes short, the size of the governor and related parts becomes compact.

The oil in the gear case also lubricates the governor.
Refrain from adjusting the tension arm and adapter spring. When changing the adapter spring, the parts adjusted in load together with the spring should be changed at the same time as a set component.
