Manual Extract CENTER BEARING
Removal
1. Park the machine on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn the machine to the right or left for easier access to the center drive shaft.
3. Loosen and remove the cap screws that hold the universal joint at the rear of the front drive shaft.
4. Use a prybar to disengage the universal joint from the yoke. Push the center drive shaft together and move the center drive shaft out of the way.
5. Have another person push down and hold a brake pedal as you loosen and remove the selflocking nut at the rear of the front drive shaft.
6. Remove the hardened washer.
7. Make an alignment mark on the yoke and the end of the front drive shaft to make sure that the yoke is installed correctly.
8. Remove the yoke.
9. Loosen the Allen screws in the inner race of the center bearing.
NOTE: If a replacement center bearing has been installed, loosen the Allen screw in the locking collar.
10. Remove the paint or rust from the front drive shaft at the rear of the center bearing. Apply WD40 or similar oil to the inner race of the front drive shaft to loosen any rust between these parts.
11. Loosen and remove the nuts and lock washers from the bolts that hold the center bearing.
12. Remove the bolts.
13. Use a hammer and chisel to loosen the center bearing on the front drive shaft.
14. Remove the center bearing
