Manual Extract Checking Compressor Output
If a test rack is available, the compressor can be checked under operating conditions before installation on the vehicle. Such a rack will provide for proper mounting, cooling, lubricating and driving the compressor.
If this equipment is unavailable, proceed to install the compressor.
The compressor must be connected to an o i l supply line of at least 15 PSI during the test and an oil return must be installed.
Connect a reservoir to the discharge port whose volume plus the volume of the connecting line equals 1300 cubic inches.
Run the compressor at 1750 RPM. The compressor should build up 100 PSI of air pressure in the reservoir in 30 seconds or less.
Installation
1. Install the compressor straight into the rear of the engine carefully so that the coupling parts are not damaged.
2. Mount the compressor with bolts and lockwashers.
3. Refer to Figure 14. Connect the intake line, exhaust line, and governor a i r line.
Connect the three oil lines to the engine.
