The Kobelco K907D and K907DLC Preface Instructions

Read and understand all Warning plates and decal on the machine before Operating, Maintaining or Repairing this machine. The Kobelco K907D and K907DLC Excavator Manual has been written for the repair specialist. The serviceman or mechanic may be unfamiliar with many of the systems on this machine. This makes it important to use this manual and be caution when performing service work.

Please go carefully through the Shop Manual of the Excavator before starting any repair work. Use proper lifting procedures when removing any components. Be careful when removing filler caps, breathers and plugs on the machine. Hold a rag over the cap or plug to prevent being sprayed or splashed by liquids under pressure. The danger is even greater if the machine has just been stopped because fluids can be hot.

Use the Shop/Service Manual of the K907D and K907DLC Excavator as a reference book and source of information even if you are familiar with Excavator technology. Using the Workshop Manual, the experience construction machine mechanic can carry out any necessary repairs expertly.

FAULT LOCATION

The pump is provided, in most cases, with a regulator, an auxiliary valve and an auxiliary pump, and it is extremely difficult to find out causes of failures. The following checks will help pinpoint defective points.
(1) Checking Filters and Drain Oil
Check the filter element to see that there is no unusual impurities in large quantities. A small amount of metallic particles come out of the shoe and the cylinder. A large quantity of metallic particles deposited on the filter may be caused by the failure of shoe. Check the drain oil in the pump casing.
(2) Abnormal Vibration and Sound
Check the pump to see of there is no abnormal vibration and sound. Tell abnormal vibration and sound from regular hunting sound of the regulator and the auxiliary valve. If the vibration and the sound are of abnormal nature, cavitation or damage of the pump may be suspected.
(3) In Case of Two Pumps Used
When two single pumps and motors or a double pump are used, exchange the pipelines of the pumps. This will establish whether the pumps are faulty or some components after the pumps are faulty.
(4) Measuring Pressure of Different Points If the problem is with control functions, do not open the system at random, but measure pressure at various points to pinpoint the fault.
