The Kobelco 260SRLC-3 Preface Instructions

Read and understand all Warning plates and decal on the machine before Operating, Maintaining or Repairing this machine. The Kobelco 260SRLC-3 Excavator Manual has been written for the repair specialist. The serviceman or mechanic may be unfamiliar with many of the systems on this machine. This makes it important to use this manual and be caution when performing service work.

Please go carefully through the Shop Manual of the Excavator before starting any repair work. Use proper lifting procedures when removing any components. Be careful when removing filler caps, breathers and plugs on the machine. Hold a rag over the cap or plug to prevent being sprayed or splashed by liquids under pressure. The danger is even greater if the machine has just been stopped because fluids can be hot.

Use the Shop/Service Manual of the 260SRLC-3  Excavator as a reference book and source of information even if you are familiar with Excavator technology. Using the Workshop Manual, the experience construction machine mechanic can carry out any necessary repairs expertly.

MAINTENANCE STANDARD AND TEST PROCEDURE

The exhaust gas post-cleaning device burns trapped soot automatically. (Regeneration)

Immediately after the machine is operated and during regeneration, the temperature of the exhaust pipe, muffler
and exhaust gas are very high. It causes fire; put away any flammable materials from these hot parts. And also,
you get burn by hot exhaust gas.

Depending on condition of operation, the combustion of trapped soot (regeneration) may not be completed. When
the demand of regeneration operation is displayed on the gauge cluster (monitor), push the regeneration switch
and start the combustion of soot (regeneration).

When the regeneration operation is performing, engine speed is set to constant speed and pump relief may be
functioned. But this is not malfunction; this raises the temperature of exhaust gas and has purpose of purification of
the exhaust gas.
