Manual Details

This manual contains guidelines on repair and maintenance work for the 50ZIII Loader. All explanations, drawings and photographs are current at the time of going to press.

Repair and maintenance work should be carried out systematically and logically after thoroughly reading and understanding this manual to ensure that the shovel loader gives reliable, long-term service.

The manual is structured as follows to make it easy to use

SHOP SERVICE MANUAL CONTENT:

  • 01 GENERAL OUTLINE
  • 10 FUNCTIONS AND CONSTRUCTION
  • 20 INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT
  • 30 DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY
  • 40 MAINTENANCE STANDARDS

The most important maintenance operations are those related to safety. The points that  have special significance from the safety point-of-view are indicated with a A mark in this manual.

Overload relief valve and anticavitation valve

When the steering wheel is not being turned, the oil between the orbitrol and the cylinder is sealed in.
If external force is applied to the steering cylinder under this condition, high pressure would be created in the circuit, and that pressurized oil might cause a ruptured pipe or cylinder, a bent piston rod, or some other problem, unless the oil is allowed to escape.

The overload relief valve directs this pressurized oil to the tank. (Relief pressure setting = 210kg/cm2) (2,987psi)
The set pressure of the overload relief valve can be adjusted by turning the adjusting screw.
When the overload relief valve opens and causes the oil in the cylinder to escape to the tank, the pressure in the opposite section of the cylinder (the rod end of the cylinder in the figure) become negative. When that happens, the anticavitation valve opens and directs oil from the tank into cylinder, canceling the negative pressure in the cylinder.
NOTE: Unless the orbitrol is removed, it is impossible to adjust the overload relief valve.
